Connecting outdoor umbrellas with removeable gutters

Home Guides & How To’s Connecting outdoor umbrellas with removeable gutters

Using multiple large outdoor umbrellas to cover an outdoor space can be a very effective method of providing shade and shelter. But between each umbrella will be a gap, and that gap can allow sun and rain to sneak through.

Instant Shade Umbrellas have developed a unique removeable gutter system to connect umbrellas together, creating one continuous canopy for maximum protection.

The gutters attach to to the umbrella by velcro adhesion. The umbrella canopies need to have velcro stitched to them – this can be done at time of production or can even be retro-fitted to existing canopies. The gutters themselves are made from vinyl (PVC) which is a flexible waterproof material perfectly suited for this application.[/vc_column_text]

Attaching umbrella gutter
Attach the velcro on the gutter to the velcro on the canopy. Start from the middle and work to the edges of the umbrella canopy.
Umbrella gutter falling to one side
The gutter is made with "fall" to direct the rain to run off to one side of the canopy.

To open and close the umbrellas the gutter needs to be removed, but it is very easy to do using the velcro attachment. The gutters can be fitted to almost any style or model of umbrella, although it works best with square shapes and larger sizes. The gap between the umbrellas should ideally be no more than 200mm.
